TEXAS LIVING!

Back when we first started this blog site, I had mentioned my observations of Texas drivers – especially in the Metro-plex. So why bring it up again? Well, this morning Donna and I were on our way to Bedford for my great aunt’s funeral. We were traveling south on HWY 121 during the morning commute. Traffic was heavy and weather was gorgeous. We were the second vehicle in a line slowing for a yellow light. Just as were about to be stopped completely, BAM! We were struck from behind, pushing us into the car in front of us. The car that had struck us had been struck by a 4th car. Luckily no one was hurt, requiring any aid. There is $2400 damage to our Tahoe - both bumpers and the back-up alarm sensors. The small Toyota behind us had the misfortune of hitting out tow receiver, and his front-end damage was significant. And now we just had a phone call from the insurance adjuster for what we thought was the causing driver. He now tells us our claim may be delayed as conflicting witness reports are saying the car behind us may have hit us first, and then he was struck by the 4th car. It’s all being sorted out by the Coppell Police Department. The driver we hit was on his cell phone, and the insurance adjuster says that maybe the guy that hit us was talking on his cell phone or ‘texting’ to someone! Now I’m not a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon, but I do like to think I have some common sense regarding the use of cell phones. Cars can be fixed, but people are precious. Let’s be safe out there, and use some common sense! Drive safe, drive sensible, and drive efficiently!
