TEXAS LIVING!

Oh no . . . . I got Farkled! AGAIN! Good friends Bob Gerber and Roxie Olsen came over Saturday to play some Farkle, well more to teach Donna the game. We want to teach Toby, Jocelyn and Ashley the game when we are in Cabo next month. We tied the whole evening together with coffee and flavored Tequila Liqueurs. Donna and I took a tour of a couple of tequila factories on one of our recent trips to Mexico, and tasted waaaay too many flavored liqueurs! We bought coffee flavored and almond flavored and brought them home. Bob and I had a wonderful time drinking – and it must have helped, because we each won a game – and Donna & Roxie? ZIP! They really should have had a drink! GOOFY WEATHER AGAIN in N. Texas – it is 5 p.m. and we’re under a tornado watch again. Severe thunderstorms are predicted with heavy rainfall tonight. We have been having wonderful days around 80 with lots of sunshine. We have had the doors open getting a nice evening breeze through the house. Sure hope the weather improves for our road trip to Paris on Saturday. And I’d like to get to the Dallas Arboretum on Sunday to see the 400,000+ blooming flowers! And speaking of weather, last winter’s freeze killed a few of our perennials. We lost a gorgeous red hibiscus and our Kennedy Rose. Long-time and good friend Colleen McGary bought the rose for us when we lost our granddaughter Kennedy in January ’07. The sentimental value cannot be replaced, but we already have a new Kennedy Rose from Jackson-Perkins. It arrived yesterday, and we will plant sometime this weekend. Thanks again Colleen - every time we look at that rose in the yard, we think of Kennedy.
