TEXAS LIVING!

Where do I start today? How about the weather? Here in Allen it is currently 20 degrees at a little past 9 a.m. on this cold Sunday morning. Lots of sunshine and blue sky. We are having temps all over the place. Some forecasters are predicting 70 again for Christmas day. By Tuesday, our nights should be back in the 50’s. I’m getting lots of reports from Facebook friends and my family about the snow in SW Washington State. I checked the local paper, the Columbian, this morning, it is says 7” in downtown Vancouver. Most snowfall in 10 years! Now let’s talk football! Congratulations to the Allen High School Eagles – they won the Texas State 5A – Division I championship last night in Reliant Stadium in Houston. In their last three play-off games, they beat un-defeated teams. They ended their season 15 – 1, only losing their first game of the year to then #1 nationally ranked Euless Trinity, who they beat in the play-offs. And then there is all the whining going on about the pro team that plays in Dallas. Or should I say ‘chokes’ in Dallas? Yep folks! Those Cowboys lost again! Today’s morning paper is predicting that coaching changes are inevitable. DUH! Maybe Holmgren can come down here and restore the glory of the Cowboys when they were America’s Team! Last night was also the last home game in Texas Stadium before the Cowboys move into their new Stadium. And the local media has also announced a sell-out for the Cotton Bowl game on January 2nd between Texas Tech and Ole Miss. The City of Dallas and the tax-payers funded a huge restoration of the Cotton Bowl stadium on the State Fair grounds. The stadium now holds around 88,000. Should be a party on the 2nd! GO RED RAIDERS! While having coffee and reading the paper this morning I watched the movie Mama Mia. I almost got in touch with my feminine side. I liked the movie, but probably still won’t run out and buy any ABBA music!
