TEXAS LIVING!

Not all that much to report from N. Texas I’m afraid. It seems like now that I’m back to work full-time we’re leading a pretty boring life. Same o’ same o’! Donna is still doing her volunteer work at the hospital, the grade school, and Meals On Wheels. Work continues to go by fast the days I work. Really different than my public works life! A very different kind of busy for sure. The store is still having it’s ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ with business. Two more restaurants in the development open this week, and by the end of summer 150 apartments and condos will fill up. That will really change things. After these restaurants, there are 13 more scheduled to open by end of summer, along with a Border’s book store and others. We got some disappointing news this week. Our new SmartCar delivery is now pushed back to 2009. Crap! We can’t wait that long for a 2nd car, so we bought a new HHR over the weekend. We are not canceling our SmartCar just yet tho. It just might be a good investment as a ‘re-sale’. Goofy weather - Yesterday we were under a tornado watch, and then a warning. We have had some pretty interesting weather this week. It was 72 when I to work at 4:45 a.m. – and by 10 a.m. it was only 56. The TV last night said this was the 6th wettest March on record. Politics – Our local Mayor is running for re-election. Here’s my question: how long is too long to hold the same office? Does the elected official get stale? Do we as citizens need new blood occasionally? Here in Allen we have a very solid candidate running against the incumbent Mayor. What oh what should I do?

I know you're busy because Jamie asked me "Why doesn't Bruce have poker games anymore?" Too bad about not getting the car but the one you got is a beauty.
