TEXAS LIVING!

What is on your “bucket list”? I recently watched the movie Bucket List starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. It reminded me I haven’t thought much about my own “list” lately. Some things that I had really wanted to do - I have done! I have visited Spain and London, I have watched a baseball game at Wrigley Field, I have watched an ARMY/Navy football in Philadelphia, and I have owned season tickets to the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seattle Seahawks. I still have others on my list, including seeing the Northern Lights. According to Wikipedia - Auroras (North/South Polar Lights; or aurorae, are natural colored light displays in the sky, usually observed at night, particularly in the polar zone. They typically occur in the ionosphere. Some scientists call them "polar auroras". In northern latitudes, the effect is known as the aurora borealis, named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora. It often appears as a greenish glow or sometimes a faint red, as if the sun was rising from an unusual direction. The aurora borealis is also called the northern polar lights, as it is only visible in the North sky from the Northern Hemisphere. The aurora borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April. The Cree call this phenomenon the Dance of the Spirits. So, what’s on your “bucket list”? Sarah Masco, daughter of good friend Charley Masco went to school in Northern Alaska several years ago, and I remember some of her photos. Charley graciously shared this photo with me. Thanks Charley!

I love the northern lights. I haven't seen them here (too much light polution + an early bedtime), but I did in WI. I've heard they are great in Alaska!

Blogs I frequent...go to your dashboard and click "edit layout." You should have the option to "add page element" which brings you to all the great things you can add. Just click "Blog List" (it should be at the top) and start added in web addresses! I do find it funny because I'm generally the last to add things and hear about them but I just happened upon this the day it was released and lots of bloggers have asked.

My bucket list is very long. I know the Seahawks aren't on mine though. ;)

I used to see them when I was little and we first moved to Goldendale. Very odd and amazing and so glad I saw them when I did because I probably will never see them again. Pretty cool though, I highly recommend them. And I need to have two bucket lists; 1-realistic goals and 2-things that I would want to do if I won the lotto. I guess #2 isn't really a bucket list, it's the Lotto List.

Howdy family and friends! As suggested by one of our Facebook friends, we are gonna try the ‘blog thing’ again. If you visit our past bl...
