Yesterday, Wade, Donna and I drove over to Addison for their annual Oktoberfest celebration. This is a pretty big event each year, starting on Thursday, and ending on Sunday. Arts & crafts, miscellaneous vendors, a German car show, entertainment, and of course the wonderful and authentic German food! YAHOO! We spent a couple of hours at the park enjoying the wonderful Texas fall-like weather. Did I mention sitting in the food area, enjoying a seasonal beer and eating German food? Wade & I split a spicy chicken brat with jalapeƱos and cheese, and I added sauerkraut to mine too! We also split some kind of chicken sandwich. Donna had the German potato pancakes with pork loin. We all split a hot potato dish with sausage, peppers and onions. I’m not sure which was better – the food, the beer, or the weather! We were home in time to watch college football and take a nap. All-in-all, it was a pretty good day! Next Saturday we have SW Washington friends Jim & Sue visiting for a week. Saturday night we are going up to McKinney for their Oktoberfest celebration in Old Town! Party on!
We haven't posted anything for around 6+ years! It's time to get back to it! We will be posting a new label about North Texas Smoke & Arizona Livin' - be sure and read 'em if you like to eat or keep up with our smoking news for North Texas Smoke & misc. recipes!

oh how I hate German food. I'm not much of a meat eater, but I still hate, hate, hate German food. Quite ironic since I'm 1/4 (or is it 1/8) German. Have I mentioned I hate German food?
