TEXAS LIVING!

A couple of weeks ago it was announced that on Sunday morning at 8 a.m. along the freeway in Dallas that a hotel would be imploded. I have always watched those video news clips and thought that would be interesting to see sometime. Well, 8 a.m. on a Sunday is a little early for Donna, but not me. Made a pot of coffee, grabbed my camera and tripod and the Sunday paper and about 6:15 headed down the road 20 miles. Found my spot along with several hundred other people and waited. Precisely at 7:59 a.m. the sirens went off and within a minute, BOOM! We were all waiting for it, but still jumped when the first explosion went off. Boom, boom, boom and it was over before it started! It was absolutely amazing and worth the effort. The old Holiday Inn was down in less than a minute. Photos above. Back in late October I mentioned early voting and the $219 million dollar school district bond here in Allen. I just realized I never mentioned the results. WAKE UP Battle Ground School District voters and look at this result! Not only did the bond pass here in Allen, it passed something like a whopping 76% yes to 24% no. And then there is the Texas football update! How about that pro team, oh yea, the Cowboys! They won again this weekend and that whiner ‘T-O’ had a terrific game. And then there was all the hype surrounding Texas Tech. I went to bed at half-time. They forget to get off the bus in Oklahoma and get on the field! And here I even bet money on ‘em! And we still have the Allen High School Eagles playing for the State 5A trophy. They won Saturday night 56-28, but may have lost their quarterback. Ouch! On Friday at 4 p.m. they play 10-0 Odessa/Permian in Cowboy stadium. I’m thinking about attending with Wade & Connor.
