Last weekend Donna I dove to Lubbock for a wedding. The shortest route, time wise, is the Interstate through Abilene. Johnny O’Connell, one of son Wade’s best friends lives there with wife Kayla and daughter Callie. Wade & John were roommates at West Point for two years and have remained close the last dozen years. We had dinner with John and Callie on Friday night on our way to Sweetwater, where we spent the night before driving on into Lubbock Saturday morning. Shown here are John & Callie at dinner. Once arriving in Lubbock we hooked up with daughter-in-law Michelle’s family for breakfast and some socializing. Michelle was in the wedding that night and that was our connection to the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and Michelle looked as stunning as the bride! The high-light for me was beating Dennis, Michelle’s dad, twice in cribbage. The last time we played he kicked my butt! We drove home on Sunday, a total trip of 800+ miles.
