TRAVEL!

WOW! What a fun-filled, busy week-end. I left Saturday morning for Battle Ground, Washington via Portland Oregon’s airport. I had lunch with wonderful friend Candace and I spent the afternoon at Prairie Bar & Grill with more friends and then my son-in-law’s 40th birthday party. It was lots of family and a whole other group of friends. Sunday morning was coffee with Jim & Sue Pillette and then unfortunately was a memorial service for a past co-worker, Barb Kildun, who had passed away this last week after fighting cancer for a year. Then it was friends Ron & Sandra, and Bob & Virginia for lunch, and then on to Donnas dad J-B and his wife Helen in the afternoon. Sunday evening was dinner with our kids and grandkids. We then stopped by Nin & Pati’s, one of Donna’s brothers for a short visit and to pick up some elk meat to bring home (summer sausage, pepperoni & thuringer). Yum! Thank you Nin! One of Donnas other brothers, Doug, graciously gave us Washington razor clams out of his ’stash’. Monday morning I took Donna to the airport, had coffee with good friend Colleen McGary, visited the Fire District Training Center to see friend Marty James, and then an Hawaiian breakfast with my sister Brenda, niece Kayce’, brother Brad, and youngest son, Toby. Who all else did I get to see? Too many to name because I’m afraid I will leave someone out. All 50+ of you know who you are. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Prairie Bar & Grill to say hello! And the craziest thing that happened while we were up there? Sunday evening while having dinner, Donna’s cell phone rang and it was Battle Ground friend John Idsinga. He said they had been watching the Portland NBC TV station when a segment came on about nutrition. And there was a video clip interview with Donna. The odd thing about it was, Donna did that interview here in Allen, Texas, at the store where I work, back in early December. Go figure!

So, after a weekend of eating and drinking, you ended it with a video on nutrition. Were there any guilty feelings, Bruce?
