WON'T BE LONG NOW! Our very good friends Roxie Olsen & Bob Gerber will be back in Allen next month! YAHOO! Each summer they go back up to Stone Lake, Wisconsin where Roxie has a family cabin on the shores of Lac Courte Oreilles. They are lucky to enjoy the mild weather here in Texas during the late fall, winter, and early spring; and then the late spring, summer, and early fall of Northern Wisconsin. We were very fortunate to visit them on the lake last September on our way back from SW Washington. We met Bob & Roxie at the Allen Senior Recreation Center while playing, what else? CRIBBAGE! We’re looking forward to having them back here! Pictured above is Bob & Roxie just a few weeks ago for a high school class reunion. Roxie’s I think! The other photo is a gorgeous sunrise from the cabin’s dock. TO WORK, OR NOT TO WORK? That’s the big question here this week. I have two interviews scheduled and a possible third. The two now scheduled are both in the grocery business. One is with Kroger’s, and the other is with Market Street. I’m pursuing their management programs, hoping to be a roving manager to cover vacations, etc. I’ve also talked with the City of Plano about their vacant position in their signs and markings unit. Wouldn’t that be something? That’s the same department where I started my public service career almost 35 years ago with Clark County. I like the hours and benefits being offered by the City, but I’ve always missed the grocery business. If I do decide to go back to work, I will need the flexibility to travel that we have come to enjoy!
