TEXAS LIVING!

Some time back, I mentioned my problems one morning in the bathroom. Remember? I must have been half asleep that morning, putting the wrong tube products on my toothbrush! I still keep Neosporin and Lamasil in a small baggie in my bathroom box to make sure I don’t inadvertently put those on my toothbrush, in my mouth again! Well along comes this past Wednesday, and another screw-up. Donna had dropped me off at the theater to see American Gangster (very good BTW), while she went shopping. Afterwards we decided to try a new Chinese restaurant that was recently opened close to the theater. We had a wonderful late lunch of sautéed green beans with shrimp, orange chicken, and broccoli with beef. Before going to the movie I had paid an Internet purchase using my debit card. I would much rather use our American Express rewards card, but lots of retailers won’t take AX. I left the damn card lying next to the keyboard and off we went. So now we go to the pay the lunch bill, they don’t take American Express, and oh no! My VISA debit card is at home. Donna and I pool our cash and OH NO again! We only have about fifteen bucks and change to pay a lunch bill of $21 dollars. Crap! The restaurant staff does not speak much English, but we were finally able to convince them to take the cash we had and hold my AX card hostage. I told them I would come back on Thursday to get my card. Well! We get home and guess what? The change we keep in the car for parking, tolls, etc. was enough for the balance and a gratuity! We wouldn’t have had to go home! DAMN! I decide to drive right back and get my card. The manager had locked up my card and she had left to run errands – I had to wait 30 minutes for her return to get my card. Ain’t life grand? Hope ya’ll had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
