Today’s headline in the Dallas Morning News, Business Section – “American last on on-time list.” No sh_t! When Donna and I left Cabo a few weeks ago, we were notified at check-in that our flight on American Airlines was delayed two hours. How much fun is it sitting in an airport waaaaay too small for the number of departing passengers? No fun at all! But as much as we fly, we usually go prepared. We have our trusty cribbage board & cards, and our books. When Donna left Portland yesterday to head back to Dallas, guess what? Yep, her American Airlines flight was delayed about an hour. Little wonder American Airlines is in trouble. Now consider Southwest Airlines. We are traveling to Lubbock tomorrow, already checked in and have printed our boarding passes 24 hours in advance, with a very cool boarding system without seat assignments. We have traveled on SWA lots since moving to Texas a couple of years ago. Only once did I ever get seriously delayed, and that was due to snow. Of the 19 airlines on the “on-time” list today, SWA was #3. And American was #19. And consistently, SWA has lower fares than AA. Who would you fly?

Oh, I HATE the Cabo airport! The little stores are in collusion with the temperature control people, I'm sure of it. How else do you explain the NO AC and the $7 price of a SMALL bottle of water?! I HATE the Cabo airport!
