TEXAS LIVING!

Well, it was a ‘kicked-back” week-end for Donna and I. Yesterday we took a drive to Frisco, TX. to see the new Market Street store that opens August 27th. We then took some new routes northwesterly along the east edge of Lake Lewisville to Denton for the North Texas State Fair. Unfortunately, it was a ‘bust’ and the price of admission of $12 each was ‘highway robbery’. I’ve seen better 3-day week-end festivals that were free! One expo building and few displays other than new vehicles. They were having a BBQ contest tho and we did see some cool smokers, along with some interesting characters. The aloha cowboy in the above photo with Donna was from the Almost Paradise “team”. Today we visited the new Borders Book Store here in Allen. It is the debut of their new store design with all kinds of digital offerings on two floors. And they offer a coffee bar with Seattle’s Best coffee! With Seattle’s Best, Peet’s Coffee and Starbucks, all within 50 yards of each other, it almost feels like we’re in the Pacific Northwest!
