TEXAS LIVING!

Yea! Yea! I know! I haven’t posted much the last two weeks, but hey, my blog, my rules! But sometimes I’m just too busy to take the time. For those of you who have mentioned it in e-mails or calls, thanks for the push! Let’s start with some football! The local Allen High School team lost their first game this year to local Euless Trinity, #1 in most all national polls. AHS hasn’t lost since and won their homecoming game last night 42 – 0. They were #5 in the Texas State poll going into the game. In college football, we have Texas Tech, the Texas family favorite almost choking against unranked Nebraska in a home game today. With #5 Texas beating #1 Oklahoma, TT was in great position to move up in the polls. How do you spell C-H-O-K-E? And then we have the local pro team - almost losing to winless Cincinnati last Sunday. And then my Seahawks stinkin’ up the place last Sunday. Tomorrow should be a fun game, Seattle against Green Bay. And speaking of Allen High School, the Allen Independent School District is getting for their bond proposition on November 4th. Get this SW Washington, a $219 million bond! Yep! You read it right, six zeros. I don’t think Battle Ground School District could get a thousand dollar bond approved. And Allen ISD isn’t even counting the bond next year for tens of millions of dollars to build a new football stadium. What else is new in North Texas? Gas continues to drop. $3.19 at CostCo this week and dropping again. It is now under $3 in some places. And our weather? WOW! It is near perfect with 80 degree days and our nights in the low 50’s. How do you say good-bye air conditioning? And yep! It is State Fair time. Wade, Michelle, Connor, Donna and I spent Thursday afternoon at Fair Park. Wade & Connor rode rides; we ate $5 corn dogs and generally checked out the Fair. The lines were too long for chicken fried bacon! Damn!
