TEXAS LIVING!

The party is on! Well – kinda! Donna is now in Battle Ground, WA. visiting friends and family for two weeks. She is staying with good friends Sandra & Ronnie Steigman. We had a Southwest coupon for a free ticket that had to be used by November 1st – so off she went! I had sushi with son Wade on Thursday night. We are always on the look-out for some place new and found one right here in Allen. It was awesome! So many new custom rolls to try. And it always helps when you have a 20% off coupon. Thank you Entertainment Book! And now an update on local football! How about those Allen Eagles? As I mentioned last week, their only loss this season was to the then #1 team in the nation, and also a regional team Euless–Trinity. Last night Allen played Plano at Clark Stadium in Plano. Plano was rated higher than Allen in the local polls and the State polls. Last night’s game was played in front of almost 15,000 fans, and the final score? Plano 23; Allen Eagles 56. GO EAGLES! And then I took some heat from local readers when I referred to Texas Tech choking against Nebraska last week. My blog, my opinions! I’ll certainly be watching Tech play A & AM today. I’ll also be watching the Texas/Missouri game later – and I’ll be ‘rooting’ for Missouri. Now Tech has to step up and whip the A& M Aggies soundly to move up in the polls. And speaking of A & M, here’s a cute story furnished by good friend Bob Gerber: ANTHRAX SCARE FOR THE AGGIES – “A&M Aggie’s football practice was delayed nearly two hours yesterday after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach, Mike Sherman, immediately suspended practice while police and federal agents were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice was resumed today after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.”
