TEXAS LIVING!

What else is new here in Texas? I had dinner Tuesday night with Scott Turpen. Scott and I worked together back when I worked for the City of Portland, OR. He was in Dallas for a conference and we hooked up for BBQ dinner and a drink at Sonny Bryan’s. This authentic smoke house is considered one of the top 5 nation-wide. We then cruised around the downtown west side and Victory Plaza. It was great seeing Scott and catching up on Portland news. The flower photos you see here were taken in the backyard earlier today. The white rose is a Kennedy Rose, now in bloom the 2nd time around this year. This rose bush was a gift from close friend Colleen McGary from Vancouver, in honor of our granddaughter Kennedy, whom we tragically lost in January ’07. The other photos are another rose and our cannas, still blooming after 4 months. Gotta love this North Texas weather!

Flowers in Oct? Not around here; our flower beds are ready to be put to sleep for the winter.

I hope you find some good football to watch today. The Seattle players don't seem to be doing much. ITA, the Cowboys aren't America's team. You can watch the Colts at the Packers...no idea who is going to come out on top of the game though. I'll be cheering on my Packers!
