This should probably be titled Wisconsin Living! A week or so ago, our good friend Roxie from Allen, now staying at her cabin in northern Wisconsin sent me this awesome photo. I made the mistake of referring to it as a duck. And here is Roxie’s response. “LOON..........the duck is a LOON...........a bird..........he needs 295 feet of water to take off and can't walk on land. He mates for life and is territorial. The cry of the loon and the loon calls are famous in the north woods. A mature loon weighs in at 32 pounds and we usually have 2 pair on our lake, and they are protected.” :> Thanks Roxie!Sunday, May 25, 2008
