TEXAS LIVING!

This last week was an interesting article in the Dallas Morning News about high speed trains in Texas. According to the article, Texas has apparently been ‘dinking’ around with the thought for over 20 years. The article goes on to brag about Renfe, the high speed trains in Spain. Donna and I rode Renfe while visiting Spain in 2007. We rode the train from Malaga’, on the southern coast in the Costa del Sol to Madrid. We travelled at speeds around 200 mph. What a wonderful experience. We even reserved our seats months in advance on the Renfe web site. I personally think Texas would be a great State to use high speed trains. And just maybe it would bleed over into other areas of our great Nation! And are ya’ll a member of AARP? Assuming you’re as old as me – “older than dirt”! Well, over 50 anyway. After hundreds of AARP flyers telling me I should compare my insurance rates between my current insurance company and the Hartford, I did it. And they say you’ll have hundreds of dollars in savings over State Farm, Allstate and Farmers insurance companies if you live in Texas. So today I logged on to AARP and made the comparisons using my current deductibles, etc. Well guess what? I’ve been with State Farm for over 40 years, and there was no comparison – State Farm was hundreds of dollars cheaper just for auto insurance. So why in the hell compare home owners insurance?

You just proved AARP's point, you looked and got a quote, which is what they are after. Not a bad marketing ploy. Just think of the other people who HAVEN'T been with an insurance company for 40+ years. That's where they get the bulk of their business. And after 15 years I couldn't WAIT to leave SF. Then again, my circumstances were waaaaaay different from the average person, lol.

Howdy family and friends! As suggested by one of our Facebook friends, we are gonna try the ‘blog thing’ again. If you visit our past bl...
