TEXAS LIVING!

Ok! Where to start? It has been about three weeks since I last posted about the incredible amount of money being requested in the May 9th bond election for the Allen Independent School District - $119.4 million dollars. YIKES and double HOLY CRAP! That amount on top of the $219 million passed last Fall. Well guess what? Here are the almost staggering stats for the bond election results on May 9th: the bond passed with a 63.66 per cent approval and a 36.34 against. And the stat that stands out the most to me is an 8.5 per cent voter turn-out. What does that say? People don’t care? I’m just not sure. The only positive thing about the Allen voter turn-out is that Frisco only had a 4.2 per cent and Plano had a turn-out of 6.4 per cent. Here is Memorial Day week-end and we are/have been losing Americans in wars fighting for our right to vote, among other important things, and people can’t take just 15 minutes to vote. And to be clear, it wasn’t just school capital bonds on the ballot!
