TEXAS LIVING!

Shawn at the new Cowboys Stadium!
Sushi for dinner - Texas style! Watching the Texas Longhorns cattle drive at Historic Stockyards in Ft. Worth!
Well! It has been awhile since I just plain posted news about living in North Texas! I’ll start with our company this past week. Shawn McDonnell, the son of friends Pat & Mary McDonnell in Vancouver, Washington has been here for job interviews. He has had several and has had at least one call-back interview. Good luck Shawn! We have had some great dinners, both at home and on the road! Shawn has had lots of Mexican food and food items somewhat unique to Texas like jalapeno kolaches and deep fried butter at the Texas State Fair. Shawn also met our friend Shauna and spent time with her and her friends. We also visited the Historic Stockyards in Ft. Worth, the Texas Motor Speedway, the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, various other sports facilities, downtown Dallas, local points of interest around Allen and much, much more. Shawn and his dad will be back in early November for the Dickie’s 500 NASCAR race. Shawn has graciously agreed to take kolaches home to Clark County for our family. Thanks Shawn! And now let’s talk some Texas football! Allen High School is winning again and winning big. Last night they won their first league game beating Plano West HS, 55 – 6 with 600 yards of offense. Texas Tech has another tough road game tonight playing #17 Houston away tonight. And the Dallas Cowboys? WHO CARES? And speaking of sports, today’s paper has the following TV listings for today’s televised games: 25 college football games, 5 soccer games, 5 golf tourneys, 1 high school football game, 3 major league baseball games, 1 boxing match, and more. Gotta love sports in North Texas! Y’all have a wonderful week-end!
