CRIBBAGE!

I heard this quote at a cribbage tournament in Reno a few years back, and I just found the originator. Gotta love it! "I never lost a game. I just ran out of time." - by Bobby Layne. I haven't posted about cribbage in a long, long time. Mainly because I haven't been playing much cribbage lately. I loved playing when I lived in Battle Ground, WA. - tournaments at our house aka Cribbage Flat, and also at Cribbage Hill, east of Battle Ground, owned by host and hostess Gerry and Margie. Donna and I also joined the Texas ACC Grass Roots Club, #106 the Lone Star Club when we first relocated to Allen. But out till 11 p.m. on week nights when I get up around 3:15 just wasn't working for me. So what kind of cribbage do I play now? We got hooked and play lots and lots of Kings Cribbage, similar to Scrabble only using cribbage hands for counting. So now I'm taking photos of all my dozens and dozens of cribbage boards and will ask my kids to pick out the ones they want when I'm gone, along with dozens of custom cribbage pegs. In the photos above, are just a few of the many boards I have. Some were retirement gifts, some were boards I won at tournaments, some that I bought. Some were made by friends using exotic imported wood. The black board with Betty Boop has a laugh box in the bottom under the winning hole. The pegs I use are just long enough to set off the laugh box. My opponent is unaware until I win! Gotta have fun or cribbage isn't worth playing!
